Maple Syrup

MAPLE SYRUP

NATIVE HARVEST maple syrup is harvested each spring from March to April.  Maple trees are tapped and sap is collected in buckets hung from the tree.  Local tribal members empty the buckets into a tank atop a horse drawn wagon for the trip through the woods to the sugarhouse.  The sap is cooked on a wood fires evaporator, boiling down 30 gallons of sap for every gallon of syrup!  NATIVE HARVEST produces and packages their own Grade A medium amber syrup.

CHARLIE BOY THAYER

THE THAYER FAMILY
I think of White Earth as my mom's and grandmother's place.  It is where they come from.  I know that mom wants to go home and be around trees.  My mom listens and talks to the trees and if she went home she'd be happy.  I would come home and be happy with her.
