This Week on Democracy Matters: Collective Bargaining in Oklahoma, and a Food Bill of Rights
Posted by Mari Margil on June 28th, 2011On this week's program, we speak with Matthew Jordan, a labor organizer in Oklahoma - where the state recently followed in Wisconsin's footsteps to overturn collective bargaining powers for workers. We talk with him about his work to drive collective bargaining rights at the local level. And a Food Bill of Rights - why more and more communities are looking to build sustainable food systems such that they decide what food production looks like in their communities, not the agribusiness industry.
Each week on Democracy Matters we bring you stories from the frontlines as communities bring rights-based organizing to their communities - asserting their local self-governing authority to make the critical decisions that affect their lives and their community.
