This week on Democracy Matters: corporate constitutional "rights," and why we need to address more than corporate "personhood"

Posted by Mari Margil on February 22nd, 2011

On this week's program, we look at this concept that corporations are considered to be persons under the law, and why our concern must extend far beyond corporate "personhood" to the other constitutional rights and powers courts have conferred upon corporations. We also interview Paul Cienfuegos, a long time activist working with communities on the West Coast who are looking to move outside the box of conventional organizing.

Each week on Democracy Matters we bring you stories from the frontlines as communities bring rights-based organizing to their communities - asserting their local self-governing authority to make the critical decisions that affect their lives and their community.
